David had his 1 year checkup today.
Weight: 19 lbs 9 oz (8% – still very skinny. Need to load up on the meats.)
Length: 30″ (58% – Maybe he got daddy’s genes and will be average height)
Head Circum: 18.75″ (83% – still has a huge head. Is wearing 2T/3T hats. Most of his weight is probably in his head.)
Doctor said he can switch to whole milk. I’ll start that experiment tomorrow. And we need to get him off the bottle. He still doesn’t like the sippy cup very much. Again, an experiment for tomorrow.
Otherwise, he’s all good. Active little boy, is starting to climb. Found him sitting (and then standing) on his activity table today. It was next to a gate and I think he was trying to get over the gate. Gotta watch him more closely.

I can’t believe my baby boy is ONE! Happy 1st Birthday! It’s hard to believe you were once so tiny. Now, you’re running all over the place, climbing up stairs, banging on toys, giving high-fives, signing “more” (which is sometimes confused with clapping your hands), figured out how to stand without pulling up on something… We love you and are so blessed to have such a happy baby.

I took David to get his first professional haircut today. We’ve been giving him haircuts at home since he was 3 months old. Yesterday, I thought I’d take him to get a good one, just in time for his birthday. He no longer has the “bowl cut”. I think he lost a few pounds once they were done. David cried during most of it. I think he was mostly scared of the clippers. He did alright with the scissors. I got a few pics. Here’s also a pic of his new haircut with his new Elmo chair (thanks to Flora!).

I have succumbed to peer pressure. Either that or I just wanted to keep up with people’s lives that are more interesting than my own. So what have I learned from my week on facebook?
1. Everyone is on facebook…including famous dead people and famous fictional people.
2. People be finding me.
3. It’s sort of exciting when people ask me to be their friend.
4. I have no skills in real life to make friends anymore.
5. People be updating like crazy.
6. Other people’s lives are more interesting than mine.
7. *sigh*
8. My circle of peeps that I know is like 99% asian.
9. Really?
10. Yes, and now I am too old and set in my ways to make new friends.

We went on our first family vacation to Austin. David enjoyed playing (and working) at the Austin Children’s Museum and Barton Springs. David tried out several careers. Not sure which one he’ll choose yet.
